Herman Mashaba confident that the ANC will not remove him from office

- The ANC are trying for a second time to remove Mayor Mashaba through a vote of no confidence

- Mashaba has revealed massive corruption within the city of Jonnesburg

- Even if Mashaba is removed the fight against corruption will continue

The Democratic Alliance member and mayor of Johannesburg, Herman Mashaba, is positive that the ANC will not be able to remove him through a vote of no-confidence.

Mashaba has been tough on corruption claiming to have identified over R16-billion of the city's money which has been wasted.

The head of the city's forensic department, Shadrack Sibiya, will continue fight corruption regardless of what the outcome of the vote of no-confidence.

Briefly.co.za can confirm from Sibiya that the city has over 2500 court cases in the pipeline and will continue to pursue those who have stolen from the people of Johannesburg, with Mashaba as mayor or not.

Mashaba faces his second vote of no confidence by the ANC who are intent on removing the mayor. The ANC believes that is has secured the necessary support to remove Mashaba after canvassing and persuading other parties.

As the main opposition party in the city, the ANC believes it may even persuade some DA members to vote against Mashaba according to the citizen.co.za.

The ANC accuses Mashaba of bankrupting the city by creating a billing crisis and starving the city of revenue. The liberation movement claims that when they handed over the reins of power the city had a healthy bank balance and now key departments are deep in the red.
